A cinematic proof of concept for a premium documentary series on charrería — Mexico's national sport, inscribed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Three months of filming across national championships, lienzos and the families who keep the tradition alive, shot with the visual language of the great international sports series.

Three months of filming. The National Championships of Zacatecas and Puerto Vallarta, and the Lienzo Charro Ignacio Zermeño Padilla in Guadalajara. Charros, escaramuzas, families and living legends of a tradition where risk is part of the craft. Several sequences were filmed under the guidance of Don Salvador Ricardo Zermeño Barba, a driving force of charrería in Jalisco.
A pitch for something larger. Independently directed, shot and financed, the piece exists to prove that charrería can carry a global documentary series — dramatic, emotional and with intimate access to its protagonists — in the narrative vein of the great streaming sports productions. Behind it sit far more footage, access to characters and locations, and a vision developed for a full season.
